LL Cool J Knocks Foxx in Bloody Melee
LL Cool J and comedian Jamie Foxx throw blows

The violence is getting a little too real on the
set of Oliver Stone's football epic.

Actor Jamie Foxx and rapper LL Cool J came
to blows recently in a bloody dustup, spurring
Foxx to file an assault charge against his co-star.

Foxx told police LL punched him in the face while they were filming
a fight scene for Stone's "Any Given Sunday." The incident
occurred on Feb. 27 at Pro Player Stadium in Miami, site of this
year's Super Bowl.

Foxx, who starred in "Booty Call" and "The
Players Club," told Metro-Dade police that LL
— whose real name is James Todd Smith —
started pushing him during a scene that didn't
call for it.

"Foxx told Smith to let him know before he
punched him, so he can be ready," police
spokesman, Detective Juan Del Castillo,
tells us. "Smith agreed."

As Foxx started to walk away, Smith "struck him on the back of the
head with his arm and Foxx turned around and struck Smith on the
face in self-defense," police said.

Smith told the police that he pushed Foxx to make the scene more
believable. "Smith said that he also punched him on the face since
[Foxx] was wearing a helmet," police said.

Both actors suffered minor facial injuries, but refused medical
attention, Del Castillo said. Foxx' complaint was referred to the
state attorney's office, said the spokesman.

Michael Singer, publicist for the movie, wouldn't comment on the
actors' fisticuffs beyond saying, "The production is on track and
continuing with all parties involved."

Reps for both actors did not return calls for comment.
