Ol' Dirty Bastard was arrested Tuesday night in Los Angeles for unlawful possession of body armor, or basically for wearing a bulletproof vest.Police say that O.D.B.'s decision to wear a bulletproof vest was not a wise one given his prior violent felony conviction.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the rapper was stopped for a minor traffic violation in Hollywood around 10:45 p.m. Supposedly, Ol' Dirty did not have a driver's license, and the rapper was searched leading police to discover the body armor.
Ol' Dirty was detained in jail Tuesday night for several hours and was eventually released on $18,000 bail. He now faces a May court date in connection with the incident.
If convicted, the rapper could be sentenced from 16 months to up to three years in jail.
