Rodman says marriage to Electra is 'True Love'
It was Love, not Liquor, Rodman Says
A note from basketball bad boy Dennis
Rodman says he married his busty "Baywatch"
bride, Carmen Electra, for the best of all
reasons: true love, according to her publicist.

But there was no honeymoon after the quickie
marriage, since Electra was back at work in
Los Angeles yesterday taping her new TV
show.

"I love Carmen and am proud to be married to
her," said a scrawled note attributed to Rodman
and released yesterday by Electra's publicist,
Cindy Guagenti.

The odd couple got hitched early Saturday at
the Little Chapel of the Flowers on the Las
Vegas strip.

Rodman's agent, Dwight Manley, later claimed
the wacky hoopster was drunk at the time and
the wedding wasn't legal.

The Chicago Bull star said yesterday his agent
committed a foul.

"I apologize for any false statements given on
my behalf regarding my marriage to Carmen
Electra," added the two-sentence note.

Guagenti said the heavily tattooed hoopster
wrote the note in Los Angeles and gave it to his
new wife's manager, Stephanie Simon.

Manley did not return calls.

The manager of The Little Chapel of the
Flowers also blasted the agent's account of the
wedding.

Rodman "was not inebriated. He was not
intoxicated. He's said so himself and you
should take his word for it," said Barbara
Taylor.

She said the bride and groom were
security-conscious and refused to fill out forms
asking for their names and phone numbers -
although they had the required $35 license from
the county marriage bureau.

Sources at the chapel said Rodman and
Electra had to get a minister out of bed for the
service, which occurred before 8 a.m. Saturday.

They bought the basic $185 wedding package,
which includes a simple service and the
groom's boutonniere.

Clark County Clerk Jodi Gendron said the
lovebirds were businesslike when they came in
for their marriage license.

"He was fine as far as I could tell, and I'm sure I
could tell. He was very pleasant and answered
all the questions," Gendron said.

She said the bride wore a dark pants suit and a
black leather jacket, and the groom wore a
baseball cap and a khaki shirt.

On the license, Electra used her real name -
Tara Patrick.

Electra, 26, was back at work yesterday on the
WB network set of "Hyperion Bay."

Electra and Rodman have been dating since
last spring.
